Constipation is more often just bothersome rather than serious. Feeling like you still need to go after you have a bowel movement (like you haven’t fully emptied your bowels) is something that annoys me a lot. Other signs are like bloating in the abdomen, reduced appetite, sluggishness, to name a few.
I have a few natural remedies to share with you today. In fact, the cure for constipation is as close as your kitchen!
Add all these in your meals daily:
- One tablespoon of Extra Virgin Coconut Oil in your drinks, oatmeal, salad or soup. It is the best natural laxative that helps to relieve difficulty in pooping or infrequent bowel movements. Thanks to its abundant amount of medium-chain fatty acids (MCFAs), which is the secret for constipation relief. MCFAs provide quick energy for your intestinal cells that boost their metabolism and hence, stimulate your bowel movements. MCFAs help to soften your stool too.
- One tablespoon of Chia Seeds in your drinks, oatmeal, salad or soup. When chia seeds absorb water, they take on a gel-like consistency. This may help with optimal stool formation, in other words, keeping stools moister and easy to pass.
- A glass of Lemon & Honey juice before breakfast. Lemon juice has a high acid content and works on the digestive system to get things moving. Whereas Honey is known for its mild laxative benefits. Together, these make a powerful antidote for constipation.
Other than the above, don’t forget to take enough fiber-rich food like vegetables and fruits, drink adequate water, and exercise on a regular basis, you’re not likely to suffer from constipation
